Pioneer
Valley Live
Steamers
|
September 12th, 13th and 14th, 2008. This meet will
be open only to yourselves and
members of other live steam clubs. We will not be open
to the public on these dates.
Our scenic ground track, which is almost a mile long,
will be entirely open to live steamers.
Our ground line track is 7 1/4 gauge. Our highline
track accommodates both 3 1/2 and 4 3/4 gauges.
Attached is a listing of motels in the area. Plan on booking your rooms now as it is the same weekend as the Big E Fair in West Springfield, Massachusetts. We have plenty of room for campers/trailers/tents. As we are planning on a large group of campers, our electrical system will not be able to carry everyone. Therefore, it is strongly suggested that you bring a generator. We do have a small number of electrical hook-ups, however they will be on a first come/first serve basis. As many of you know, we have bathroom facilities with a shower.
Meals will be available from Friday morning through Sunday afternoon.
This event is great for the entire family, even for the members of the family who are not train enthusiasts. There is plenty to do in the area, as you are very close to the foothills of the renowned Berkshire Mountains. Riding your train at night you will be amazed at the number of stars in this part of Massachusetts. All that is required to run trains at night is to have proper front and rear lighting. Whistles and horns can not be used after 9:00 p.m.
Please contact Hannah Andrews to confirm you will be coming, how many people will be in your party, will you be staying at the club overnight and how many people will be attending Friday and/or Saturday night's dinners. You can either email Hannah at, ROMSHM@GMAIL.COM or you can call her in the evening after 7:00 p.m. 203-238-4225.
We are looking forward to seeing you at our 56th Fall Meet Weekend Meet.
